State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Constitutional Law on the State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted on June 4, 2007. Following this Law, June 4 is celebrated annually as the Day of State Symbols in the Republic of Kazakhstan. State symbols are an integral attribute of any state, embodying its sovereignty and unity. The State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan are the State Flag, the State Emblem, and the State Anthem.

STATE EMBLEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

The State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the shape of a circle, in the center of which is an image of shanyrak (the upper dome-shaped part of a yurt) on a blue background, from which uyk (supports) diverge in all directions in the form of sun rays. On the right and left of the shanyrak are images of mythical winged horses. In the upper part there is a five-pointed star, and in the lower part there is the inscription "QAZAQSTAN". The image of the star, shanyrak, uyks, mythical horses, as well as the inscription "QAZAQSTAN" are gold-colored.

STATE FLAG OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

The State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a rectangular blue cloth with an image in the center of a sun with rays, under which is a soaring eagle. At the staff is a vertical strip with a national ornament. The image of the sun, its rays, the eagle, and the national ornament are gold-colored.

STATE ANTHEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

The National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, formerly known as the song "Menің Qazaqstanym", was approved by Parliament on January 6, 2006 at the initiative of First President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was first performed on January 11, 2006 during the inauguration of the President.
